Slow Reptile Journey

The undersigned voluntarily agrees to participate in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park's Slow Reptile Journey sponsored by Sonoma Ecology Center on September 20, 2026.

The undersigned recognizes that Sonoma Ecology Center has not undertaken any duty or responsibility for the participant's safety and for the safety of their minors and the undersigned agrees to assume the full responsibility for all risk of bodily injury, death, disability, and property damage as a result of participating in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park's Slow Reptile Journey. The undersigned recognizes that there are inherent risks with hiking, creek and wilderness exploration, and inclement weather, including prolonged sun exposure. I am in good health, as is my child, and I am, as is my child, capable of traversing (hiking) on uneven surfaces for approximately 2 miles. I understand that there is a change in elevation (ascent/descent) of approximately 50-ft. I(we) am(are) wearing appropriate footwear for this activity. I(we) will use caution at all times and stay on the designated trails.

I (we), as parent(s) or guardian(s) or In Loco Parentis, of the minor, do hereby, for my child, myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, release and forever discharge Sonoma Ecology Center and all officers, directors, employees, agents and volunteers of the organization, acting officially or otherwise, from any and all claims, demands, actions or causes of action which in any way arise from my participation and the participation of the minor in the above noted event.
By my signature, I hereby state that I understand the risks involved in participating in Sugarloaf Ridge State Park's Slow Reptile Journey; and willingly and voluntarily accept these risks. By my signature, I hereby surrender any right to seek reimbursement from Sonoma Ecology Center and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers and other agents for injury sustained, to me and/or to my child, and liability incurred during my participation in the activity described above. By my signature, I warrant that I am not relying on any oral representations, statements of inducement apart from the statements made on this form.

STATE OF CALIFORNIA-- NATURAL RESOURCES AGENCY DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND RECREATION VISUAL MEDIA CONSENT PRIVACY RIGHTS AND USE OF INFORMATION:
I give the State of California, Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) permission to make photographs, videotapes, films or other likenesses of me, my child or legal ward. I hereby grant DPR the unrestricted right to copyright any of the above mentioned materials containing images of me, as well as unrestricted right to use and reuse them, with their caption information, in whole or in part, in any manner, for any purpose and in any medium now known or hereinafter invented, in perpetuity, and in all languages throughout the world. These rights include, but are not limited to, the right to publish, copy, distribute, alter, license and publicly display these materials and images for editorial, trade, marketing and/or advertising purposes. I also grant to DPR and its licenses the unrestricted right to use and disclose my name in connection with the use of the above materials.

I understand and agree that I will not be paid for any use described above.

I also waive, and release and discharge the State of California, DPR, its officers, employees and/or agents from, any and all claims arising out of or in connection with any use of the materials, caption information and images described above, including any and all claims libel, defamation and/or invasion of privacy or publicity. I have read this release before signing below and I fully understand the contents, meaning, and impact of this release. I realize I cannot withdraw my consent after I sign this form and I realize this form is binding on me and my heirs, legal representatives and assigns.

By signing below, the parties confirm that they have read, understand, and consent to the terms of this waiver agreement.
