Participant Waiver and Release

The undersigned voluntarily agrees to participate in the Compost Workshop sponsored by Zero Waste Sonoma, Compost Depot & Sonoma Ecology Center on September 26, 2026.

The undersigned recognizes that Sonoma Ecology Center, Zero Waste Sonoma and Compost Depot has not undertaken any duty or responsibility for his or her safety and for the safety of minors and the undersigned agrees to assume full responsibility for all risk of bodily injury, death, disability, and property damage as a result of participating in the workshop. The undersigned recognizes that there are inherent risks associated with outdoor activities, including sun exposure and physical exertion. I am in good health, as is my child, and I am, as is my child, capable of participating in this workshop.

I (we), as parent(s) or guardian(s) or In Loco Parentis, of the minor, do hereby, for my child, myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators, release and forever discharge Sonoma Ecology Center, Zero Waste Sonoma, Compost Depot and all officers, directors, employees, agents, and volunteers of the organization, acting officially or otherwise, from any and all claims, demands, actions, or causes of action which in any way arise from my participation and the participation of the minor in the above noted event.

By my signature, I hereby state that I understand the risks involved in participating in the workshop and willingly and voluntarily accept these risks.

By my signature, I hereby surrender any right to seek reimbursement from Sonoma Ecology Center, Zero Waste Sonoma, Compost Depot and its directors.

I give Sonoma Ecology Center (SEC), Zero Waste Sonoma and Compost Depot permission to make photographs, videotapes, films, or other likenesses of me, my child, or legal ward. I hereby grant SEC the unrestricted right to copyright any of the above-mentioned materials containing images of me, as well as the unrestricted right to use and reuse them, with their caption information, in whole or in part, in any manner, for any purpose, and in any medium now known or hereinafter invented, in perpetuity, and in all languages throughout the world. These rights include, but are not limited to, the right to publish, copy, distribute, alter, license, and publicly display these materials and images for educational, trade, marketing, and/or advertising purposes. I also grant to SEC and its licensees the unrestricted right to use and disclose my name in connection with the use of the above material.
I understand and agree that I will not be paid for any use described above.

I also waive, release, and discharge the Sonoma Ecology Center, Zero Waste Sonoma, Compost Depot its officers, employees, and/or agents from any and all claims arising out of or in connection with any use of the materials, caption information, and images described above, including any and all claims of libel, defamation, and/or invasion of privacy or publicity. I have read this release before signing below, and I fully understand the contents, meaning, and impact of this release. I realize I cannot withdraw my consent after I sign this form and I realize this form is binding on me and my heirs, legal representatives, and assigns.

Please note that if you do not wish for Sonoma Ecology Center, Zero Waste Sonoma and Compost Depot to use photos and/or videos of you and/or your child, you are welcome to communicate your request directly to the event photographer onsite, and they will make sure to exclude you from photos and/or videos.

By signing below, the parties confirm that they have read, understand, and consent to the terms of this waiver agreement.
